My photographs project an imaginative surreal vision incorporating toning, bleaching, and hand painting. With my choice of film, subject and palette, I create a slightly altered reality, where accepted concepts of color do not exist - a freedom traditionally enjoyed by painters. Spending the better part of the 1980's living and photographing in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, I have recorded many magnificent antiquities, unique personalities and timeless landscapes. I draw inspiration from the early travel photographers of the Near East, such as Felix Bonfils, Francis Firth, and Henrķ Bechard. With respect to these early masters, I attack my prints with my own language of color, sometimes subtle and other times intense and dynamic.
My photographs are produced according to current archival standards and are signed, limited editions of five to fifteen. No two pieces are painted the same, making each an original.
